It's a War Out There

The enemy wants to keep us in the small story of our lives because he KNOWS and FEARS the kind of impact we will have on earth once we discover the Kingdom power and Kingdom multiplication God has made available to us.  Susie Larson

I am determined; I am NOT staying in the small story the enemy wants for my life. I will live in kingdom power and multiplication. It will be a war! Not against people, but against an enemy who follows me craftily, frames devices to trick me, and deceives my emotions. But I will win because I am empowered by God to stand and fight from 5 powerful positions.

My 5 Positions in the Fight

1. STRONG

Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power (v.10). . . so that I will be able (v.11). . . so that I will be able (v.13). . . so that I will be able (v.16).  Ephesians 6:10-18

You are strong and you are able! Both these phrases are from the Greek word dynamis where the word dynamite is derived. Through God's grace you are strong. Declare it!

2. STANDING FIRM

Put on the whole armor of God so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Ephesians 6:11

Picture yourself sinking into the armor of truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God. Then stand firm which means that you do not waver, you hold your ground, you keep your family intact, and you sustain your authority in Christ.

No matter the strategy the enemy may use to attack, you are able to stand firm.

3. RESISTING

Therefore, take up the full armor of God so that you will be able to resist in the evil day and having done everything to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13

You can recognize an attack and oppose the work of the enemy in your life and your family. Don't grow tired, but persevere in the fight.

4. ON THE TOP AND NOT THE BOTTOM

Your hand-to-hand combat is not with human beings. . . Ephesians 6:12 TPT

Paul is painting the picture here of a wrestling match in which the conqueror holds the enemy down with his hand on his neck.

What fight are you in right now?

• Is your friend dealing with depression?
• Is your teenage watching pornography?
• Are you arguing with your spouse?
• Is work hard?

Your battle is not with humans but against the evil spirit world. Draw near to God and speak the Word; your enemy is defeated.

5. HOLDING MY SHIELD OF FAITH

In addition to all taking up the shield of faith with which you are able to extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Ephesians 6:16

Your faith is a shield and is dynamically and supernaturally empowered to act as an impenetrable wall of defense against the enemy's tactics.

Pick up your shield of faith and ask yourself:

• What does faith say in this circumstance?
• What does faith do in this circumstance?
• How does faith act in this circumstance?
• What attitude does a faith filled woman have in this circumstance?
• What thoughts does a faith filled woman think in this circumstance?

It's important to recognize that it is war out there. It is even more imperative that you discover God's power available for you to live and move in everyday.
