4 Action Steps That Will Make a Difference in 2021

faith

Get prepared for 2021 by taking these 4 action steps. They will:

  • propel you into your God-given purpose
  • strengthen your spiritual core so you will stand strong
  • give you wisdom and insight to make good decisions
  • transform your life

1. Ask God for a NOW word.

Ask God for ONE WORD that will frame how he wants to transform you this next year, and ONE VERSE to add the promise and power needed for change and growth.

Once you have that VISION, write it down in big block letters so you don’t forget it.

Then the Lord answered me and said, “Write down the vision and inscribe it clearly on tablets, so that one who reads it may run.

Habakkuk 2:2 NASB

2. Write your personal mission statement.

Do you understand how God has uniquely designed and equipped you?

Writing your mission statement is one of the most empowering and freeing assignments you will ever do. The more you know about yourself, the better you can use your personality and talents to serve your family, friends, community, and world.

You are built for a MISSION – something only you can do!

For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Ephesians 2:10 NLT

Your personal mission statement frames your life, provides the outline for your days, enhances your career choices, and demonstrates itself in your circles of influence.

(Here's a FREE WORKSHOP walking you step-by-step through writing your personal mission statement.)

3. Serve with unshakable confidence.

Where are you living out your mission statement? Where are the spaces and places God had set you in?

So now, beloved ones, stand firm and secure. Live your lives with an unshakable confidence. We know that we prosper and excel in every season by serving the Lord because we are assured that our union with the Lord makes our labor productive with fruit that endures.

1 Corinthians 15:58 TPT

Personal mission statements are not just for your home life, workplace, or church. They should describe who you are and how you act: everywhere and always.

Think of your circles of influence. The inside circle is you. (It’s where you have the most influence!) The next circle surrounding you is your family and close friends. Next comes a circle that includes church, work, and school. The outer circle is your community, city, nation, and world.

In each of those circles of influence, give everything you can, and be all that God created you to be.

4. Jump, when God says jump!

  • You hear God’s vision for this new year as He frames 2021 with One Word and One Verse.
  • You write your personal mission statement and celebrate God’s unique design and purpose for you.
  • You recognize the spaces God is calling you to live out His purposes through you.

Now, you need to discern God’s timing and learn strategies for moving forward.

In Ephesians 1:17 Paul prays that we would be intelligent, discerning, and with eyes that are focused and clear. He prays we would receive the Spirit of Revelation and the Spirit of Wisdom.

  • Revelation enables us to see what is happening. We discern with spiritual eyes sooner, further, and deeper.
  • Wisdom enables us to interpret what we now see and respond properly.

I encourage you to seek to understand God’s timing in your life so you can align yourself with what He is doing.

Remember, God may be doing a completely new thing in your life. You do not want to be camping out in the old ways or stuck in the mindset of “this is how God has always done things before.”

Listen carefully to God’s voice and when he says jump, then JUMP!

VISION + MISSION + PURPOSE + GOD'S TIMING
